Acting as both the Quality of Earnings provider pre-close and the Interim CFO post-close, CFOx delivered continuity, thoroughness, and strategic insight throughout the transaction and subsequent growth phase.

As Interim CFO, CFOx led the purchase accounting process and established the company’s opening balance sheet. The CFOx team then built out the accounting and finance infrastructure, implementing month-end close procedures and launching comprehensive monthly financial reporting. Because the client’s invoicing process was highly variable, GAAP-compliant revenue recognition processes were designed and implemented to produce more accurate and insightful reporting.

With consistent month-end reporting in place, the scope broadened to other critical areas of accounting and FP&A. Cash flow forecasts, KPI dashboards, budgets and forecasts, and product-line profitability analyses were developed and reported regularly, enabling management to make timely, data-driven decisions to support growth.

The client eventually transitioned its finance and accounting functions to an internal hire. CFOx ensured a seamless handoff by training and transitioning all CFO responsibilities to the new team efficiently and on schedule.

This comprehensive approach delivered financial clarity, strengthened processes, and positioned the company for scalable growth, all while providing a smooth transition to an internal finance team.
